Often overlooked as a design element, sconces can act as a complement to a chandelier and encourage a layered effect, making the lighting and overall design of the room both appealing and functional. With the ability to direct light into the room at face level, wall sconces are perfect for balancing the amount of light in your space. It is a common misconception that sconces need to “match” the central lighting fixture in the room. They can equally complement such statement pieces by simply staying within the same finish family but choosing a varying style.
