Group Therapy
Another eye-catching design trend is to group small chandeliers or pendants together over a kitchen island, dining room table or coffee table. These smaller hanging fixtures can add a unique look and have just as much impact as one larger chandelier.
“It's fine to hang a pair of chandeliers in a large room if the room can handle it. If it's a smaller room, make sure the chandeliers aren't too oversized. Beyond that, a pair of pendants over your kitchen island or a grouping of smaller hanging fixtures in the right room can add a nice detail.” — Rebecca Tier Soskin
“I just finished a room setting where I used 7 pendants hung over a huge table in varying heights — these were glass pendants with a decidedly Moroccan bent and it was great. Obviously committing to this statement when the room is getting wired is a must!” — Jill Sharp Brinson
“If they are quite small, a cluster of delicate whimsical chandeliers can work in a child's playroom or entry hall. Nothing too big and bulky… I am also a fan of hanging several decorative pendants at different heights to play with lighting for a more modern setting.” — Sarah Gilbane Sullivan
